With incredible supermen, dazzling heroines, and feats of strength that go beyond physical, I've grown up absorbing the tales of these modern myths. Movies, comics, or TV shows, whether they were all in good fun or dead serious in their endeavors (and sometimes a nice blend of the two). It was, in fact, my early interest in comic books that improved my reading and writing comprehension.

I've written throughout my life. Mostly it started out as schoolwork, but I eventually started making my own comic books, and in my early teens, fan-made fiction. I'll admit right now, a lot of it was paltry, but that's how you learn and thusly grow as a writer and a person.

It was in my senior year of high school that this tome started. I had the idea in my head for a while to write a serious, realistic take on the disguised crime-fighter. Yet it wasn't until my Writing teacher Mrs. Knoph (pronounced K, by the way) let us choose the kind of story to write for one assignment that The Gauntlet started to take shape. I was unafraid of thanking her in front of the class.

Hope you enjoy the ride.
